Cappity Cap Cap

Well I finally did it, Reached that level 50 mark with physical.  Couldn't have done it without all the crafting that I did though, dang you get a lot of exp for crafting.

I noticed that after reaching the cap, unlike FFXI, you can not build up to one away from 51, once you hit 50 that's it, no more exp.  I'm stuck at 0/400,000 and it feels like such a waste anytime I do anything.

Another little bit of info, If you spread out all your attribute points you can have 84 exactly in each stat.  Also the cap for just one stat is 184, what's up with the number 84 anyway?  They should have made it 87, the year the first final fantasy came out.

Knights of Silverleaf

I joined this LS briefly, but I don't think it was a good fit.  They were decent players and I had a good time hanging out, but their thing was vent, which wouldn't be that big of a deal if they actually talked in the LS too.

Programs like Ventrillo and Team Speak, while fun at first, bug the shit out of me.  People sound a whole lot more retarded when they actually talk, then taking the time to type it.  I probably would have stuck around if that was the only problem, but I also didn't like that they have so many different LS's and Games using the same system and website.

Here's a Screeny from one of the Faction Leves I helped with.

Nice Chest

Finally found the "Fishing Halatali" chest, been doing this leve for weeks and whoop there it is.  Didn't get anything special out of it but at least now I know where to look.

DoL

I'm really enjoying the other DoL jobs, I've become a regular pro at those "mini-games".

Anyway rank 17 Miner and Botanist

Faction Standings

Just wanted to document my current Faction Credits.  Not having a real linkshell, with people to help, has forced me to only the spend the "Horn in Hand" credits.

I think I'll keep saving up anyway, who knows what cool new items will be available after the next update

Don't Quit Arrigo

One of my bestest buds on ffxiv was seriously wronged by SE today.  At first his character was completely deleted cause of some glitch I guess, and it took a few days before he could even log back on.  Unfortunatly when he did finally get on all of his gil and items were missing.

Needless to say he's beyond frustrated, and no one can blame him for that, I'm pretty sure I would quit myself if all my stuff just vanished.  I hope you don't quit though Arrigo, your one of like 4 friends I have on the game and I would miss you tons.

10 Things I Hate About You

Updates are just around the corner so I wanted to make a top ten list of the things that I'm most excited for.

  • The addition of party member location markers on the map.  Been screaming for this since beta, can't even begin to tell you how happy I am about this addition.  No more where are you? Where did you go? I'm lost!?

  • The addition of a list that contains a player's eight most recently used recipes and a reduction in the amount of commands necessary to begin synthesis.  This will make crafting so much more enjoyable, I'm so excited about this update that I don't even want to craft anymore without it.

  • Improvements to the targeting feature.  Yes Please and Thank YOU!!

  • The addition of new guildleves.  So tired of doing the same fishing leves day in and out.  Will be such a relief to able to do more then two level 40 leves.  Might even get some r50 fishing leves. /fingerscrossed

  • Adjustments to retainers. A feature allowing players to change their retainers' equipment.  The implementation of icons for bazaar statuses.  An increase in the number of employable retainers.  The addition of an item search feature.  Retainer system is getting a complete overhaul, and I couldn't' be happier.

  • An increase in Player inventory capacity.  This is so much win, it took FFXI years before we got increases in inventory, yay for no more PS2 limitations.

  • Autosort.  Who would have thought such a simple function would be so dang important?

  • A general restructuring of user interface (UI) operations will lessen lag and sluggish response times.  This a hundred times THIS! Thank you baby jesus.

  • Improvements to chat functionality.  So many things busted with chat, hard to believe they can fix them all, but here's hoping.

  • The reduction of various anima costs and the introduction of a feature that allows players to set "favorite" teleportation destinations.  Anything that makes anima cheaper is golden, I am so tired of running everywhere, was hoping for airships and chocobos this update, but I guess this will have to do.

Lord Errant Mission

I just completed the mother of all missions, "Lord Errant", of all the things this game is lacking, the storyline and mission cutscenes are not one of them.

For anyone that is planning on attempting this, it is possible to do this solo.  Of course I only found this out on my last try, I believe I went 1/12 on this fight.  The trick to this battle solo is winning parley with all the npcs, in very fast succession.  If you pause for even a moment or if you lose a parley you might as well exit and start over.

You must start by winning parley with the 3 NPC's huddled around you at the start of the battle.  If you are lucky enough and fast enough to win all 3 before the timer runs out a Lizard Beastman pops.  If you win the Parley against that NM then you win the battle, pretty easy huh?  The npcs are cheating little bastards, but even if you lose, as long as you have a couple people with you, you can still fight instead of parley.  It's up to you how you want to do it.

Spoiler Screenshots Below

  • Yup That's Ifrit Baby

Just wanted to say a very special thanks to both Grave and Endor for all the help I received from them on this mission.  Thank you.

I've Been Somewhere You Can't Go!!

After you hit level 30 fisher you can do a rank quest which allows you to go to a secret fish farm in Limsa.  It's called the "Barrel".  It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that they made a zone specifically for fisher.

Once you get there you need to find some sexy sexy subligar and dance for the fish.  Ultimately you come to find out that you were tricked into dancing, and if that's not bad enough a group of people on a near by boat got a free show.

Enjoy the pics, only the most dedicated fishers will ever get to see this place in the game.

Girl, Interupted

Like so many people, my dear friend Naz has quit playing this game.  We met in FFXI and became fishing buddies, we did all kind of stuff together and she is an amazing gamer.  Hopefully she will come back some day, maybe after the next couple of updates.

Miss ya Naz

Beta Beta mo Beta

I was fortunate enough to take place in all stages of the beta, including the closed version.  The game has come a long way since then, starting with my favorite addition, the job fisher, to unlocking Gridania and Ul'dah.   Being able to play the game in it's rawest form has probably made me more patient then most, and I don't think there would be so many negative reviews if only people could see how far the game really has come.

Just a few Glitches I can recall off the top of my head
  • Anytime anyone leveled up, everyone would hear the "Duhduhduh~duh duh duh duh~dudduh", got so incredibly annoying.
  • Auto-Run was jacked up, couldn't turn left or right without taking it off.
  • If you died without Anima you got boned and couldn't use return, it used to cost 2 even when dead.  I had to make a new character because of this one.
  • Mobs would often times fall threw the floor to a distance where they could still attack you but you couldn't attack them.
  • And whatever you do don't watch the credits, otherwise you'd have to reinstall the entire game.

I guess another advantage the people playing beta had was that we weren't blind sided by how incomplete this game was at the launch, we all knew what we were getting into yet still chose to buy it.  I suppose I would be pretty angry too if I just spent 80 bucks on a game that I was expecting to be perfect.

Anyway here's a few screenshots I came across during the beta years.

I miss this underwear, Can no longer get this color style /sadface
